About solutions
When it comes to PLC and automation solutions, the brand and platform you run shapes everything: the programming software your engineers use, the spares you need to hold in stock, the communication protocols your network uses and the upgrade path available as your system ages. We focus on the four automation brands we are asked about most in South Africa — Siemens, Delta, Schneider Electric and Allen-Bradley — because these represent the platforms most commonly installed in the country's industrial plants and because our sourcing relationships and engineering expertise are deepest in these brands.
Each brand has its own ecosystem of hardware, software and support. Siemens offers the SIMATIC platform spanning S7-300, S7-1200 and S7-1500 controllers with TIA Portal programming and SINAMICS drives. Delta provides cost-effective DVP and AS series PLCs with VFD drives and DOP HMIs, popular with OEMs and machine builders. Schneider Electric covers Modicon PLCs, Altivar drives, TeSys motor control and Magelis HMIs, with EcoStruxure as its connected architecture. Allen-Bradley, part of Rockwell Automation, offers MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix PLCs with PowerFlex drives and PanelView terminals, programmed in Studio 5000. Understanding the specific platform you run helps us provide faster, more accurate support.
Selecting a brand for a new project or an upgrade is a significant decision with long-term implications for your plant's maintenance, spares availability and engineering skills requirements. We provide impartial advice on the strengths and considerations of each platform in the South African context, including local support availability, spares lead times and total cost of ownership. For plants running older platforms that are approaching end of life, we advise on migration planning and staged upgrades. If you are unsure which brand your system runs, send us a photo of the panel or module label and we will identify it for you.
Common questions
Which automation brands do you specialise in?
We focus on Siemens, Delta, Schneider Electric and Allen-Bradley. These are the four platforms we are asked about most and where we hold the deepest sourcing relationships.
Can you supply spares for any of these brands?
Yes. For each brand we source PLC modules, drives, HMIs, power supplies and communication components.
Do you support system upgrades as well as spares?
Yes. We help plan and execute upgrades from older platforms to current ones, including hardware, program migration and commissioning.
Can you help me identify which brand my system uses?
Send a photo of the panel or the module label and we will identify the brand and platform for you.
Do you offer programming support for these brands?
Yes. Our engineers work with TIA Portal, Delta ISPSoft, Schneider Unity Pro and Allen-Bradley Studio 5000.
What if my brand is not one of the four you specialise in?
Tell us what you run. We source across many automation brands and will confirm whether we can help.
Can you quote components from multiple brands in one request?
Yes. Send the full list with part numbers and we will quote everything together.
Do you provide lifecycle management advice?
Yes. We can review your installed base and advise on end-of-life components and upgrade paths for your platform.
Can you help with a multi-site standardisation project?
Yes. We can help you standardise on a platform across multiple sites, including spares rationalisation and rollout planning.
How do I choose the right brand for a new project?
Tell us the application, your team's experience and your budget. We will advise on the platform that fits best.
Don't see what you need?
Send the part number or a photo of the nameplate. If we can source it, we will tell you the lead time and price.
