Engineering services behind the spares

Spares are only part of keeping a plant running. Our engineers can program, diagnose, commission and build.

About services

Keeping an industrial plant running involves far more than replacing failed components — it requires engineering expertise to diagnose complex faults, program and optimise control systems, commission new equipment and deliver complete automation projects. Our engineering services complement our spares supply, providing South African plants with access to experienced automation engineers who understand the brands, the platforms and the industrial processes they control. Whether you need a one-off programming change, urgent fault-finding support or a complete turnkey project, our team provides the technical capability to keep your operation running and improving.

The scope of our engineering services covers the full project lifecycle. For existing systems, we provide PLC programming and support — from small program modifications and bug fixes to complete program recovery, documentation and migration to current platforms. Our fault-finding service takes a systematic approach to diagnosing why equipment is not working, tracing the root cause rather than just replacing the suspected component, so the fix lasts. Our commissioning service sets up new or replacement equipment with parameter configuration, motor identification, I/O verification and functional testing, ensuring the system runs correctly from the moment it is handed over.

For new installations and major upgrades, our turnkey project service manages the entire scope from design through to handover — electrical design, panel assembly, installation, programming, commissioning and documentation. We also provide ongoing engineering support for plants that need technical guidance on component selection, system integration, obsolescence planning and lifecycle management. Our predictive maintenance and plant monitoring service uses data from your existing equipment to identify developing faults before they cause breakdowns, closing the loop between monitoring and resolution. Select a service above to see the detailed scope, or tell us what you need and we will advise on the right approach.

Common questions

What engineering services do you offer?

PLC programming and support, fault finding and commissioning, turnkey automation projects, general engineering support, and predictive maintenance with plant monitoring.

Can you work on-site or do you offer remote support?

Both. We attend site for fault finding, commissioning and projects, and we can connect remotely for programming and diagnostics where the system allows it.

Do you support the same brands as your spares supply?

Yes. Our engineers work on Siemens, Delta, Schneider and Allen-Bradley systems, matching the platforms we supply spares for.

Can you help with a machine that is down right now?

Yes. Describe the fault and we will help you diagnose it quickly. We prioritise machine-down situations and can attend site or connect remotely.

What is the difference between fault finding and commissioning?

Fault finding diagnoses why existing equipment is not working. Commissioning sets up and verifies new or replacement equipment so it runs correctly.

Do you offer ongoing support contracts?

Yes. We can provide ongoing support including call-outs, remote support, program changes and maintenance planning.

Can you take on a full automation project from design to handover?

Yes. Our turnkey service covers design, panel assembly, installation, programming, commissioning and handover documentation.

Do you provide documentation for your work?

Yes. We provide updated programs, electrical drawings, panel layouts, operation manuals and handover training.

Can you help us plan for equipment obsolescence?

Yes. We can review your installed base, identify components nearing end of life and plan staged upgrades.

How do I get started with an engineering service?

Tell us what you need, the equipment involved and your timeline. An engineer will come back with questions and a proposed approach.

Don't see what you need?

Send the part number or a photo of the nameplate. If we can source it, we will tell you the lead time and price.
